We Create Possibilities for the Future
Moen Marin, the world’s largest supplier of workboats to the aquaculture industry, has entered into a groundbreaking partnership with Charlottenlund, Guri Kunna, and Ytre Namdal high schools. The collaboration aims to strengthen the connection between education and industry, promote technological innovation and sustainability, and prepare students for a secure and skilled future in maritime and marine sectors.
The partnership provides students at the three schools with a unique opportunity for hands-on experience through placements and visits to Moen Marin. They will also gain access to state-of-the-art technology, learning about the latest advancements in the construction and maintenance of workboats, especially battery-electric vessels. This knowledge is essential in an industry becoming increasingly technologically advanced, with sustainable solutions become more prevalent.
“This collaboration is a key milestone in our vision to create the maritime solutions of tomorrow. By opening our doors to students, we aim to provide them with the practical insights they need to succeed in the industry while actively contributing to their education. We also look forward to working closely with the schools to ensure that their curriculum keeps up with the rapidly changing demands of the industry,” says Bernt Lilliestråle, CEO of Moen Marin.
Maritime careers have long been among the most demanding and high-risk professions. Through this partnership, students will not only gain technical and professional skills but also learn about operational and safety procedures critical to reducing the risk of accidents at sea. This is an essential step in ensuring safer working conditions within the industry while advancing sustainable development.
“With this agreement, we are taking a significant step towards offering even more relevant and up-to-date education for our students. By closely collaborating with an industry leader like Moen Marin, we can show students what their future careers will look like and give them a head start in a rapidly evolving field,” says Marit Flak Stovner, Principal of Charlottenlund High School.
